My name is Jo Bursell and for the last 8 years I have been making ladderback chairs in my small workshop in Somerset. Before that I was a Secondary Maths Teacher, brought up our 3 children etc etc! I now have 4 grandchildren who have “test driven” the children’s chairs I make – and given them their seal of approval.

All my chairs are bespoke and individual so you can choose the dimensions, colour, backslat and armrest patterns etc and as I (unlike many chairmakers) seat each chair, you can also choose which type of seating you would like (traditional rush, woven cane or shaker tape in a variety of colours).
